Opened in 2010, it was designed by Dutch duo Mark Hemel and Barbara Kuit.  It consists of 24 columns and 46 rings. It is 1,476 ft tall (1,969 with antenna).

Redtory is based on a rehab of an abandoned Soviet assisted factory (1958-2008) for canned goods.  The name relates to the red brick buildings.

Design 360° is China's leading magazine on design culture and is the brainchild of Wang Shaoqiang, professor at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Wang proviides a retail plaform for design artists that he champions.

Huge dim sum restaurant in Crowne Plaza.  What is noteworthy is large aquarium and fish prep on display next to restaurant entrance.   For health reasons, the Chinese like to eat foods that are alive up to last minute.  This is main reason fish is so popular in China.

Kouang-Tchéou-Wan was administered as a consituent territory of French Indochina and a leased territory of France from 1898-1946.  France wished to counter the British presence in Hong Kong.  Japan occupied the territory in 1943.  The administrative buildings have been beautifully restored.
