Guyana's zoo is pretty run down, but does afford an opportunity to see some of the more elusive animals like the jaguar and the harpy eagle. I am always fascinated by old zoos in colonial settings, the decaying architecture is fascinating.
The Botanical Gardens are also the remnants of a bygone era, but the bird species flying overhead is impressive.
