The Kingsbrook Armory (1917) is the largest Armory in New York City at 575,000 sq ft and is tucked away in NW Bronx, just south of the original Hunter College Campus. It is Romanesque design. Armories in thta era housed the National Guard whose primary roll was quelling civil unrest often due to labor disputes.
