Instituto Politécnico Nacional, Zacatenco, Mexico City, Mexico

The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (National Polytechnic Institute) was founded in 1936.  I gave a lecture to senior scientists on nanotechnology applied to water remediation.  My host, Antonio Quiroz-Gutierrez, brought a reprint copy of the 1552 Aztec herbal manuscript, Libellus de Medicinalibus Indorum Herbis, recently returned in 1990 to Mexico from Italy after 400 years sequestration.  Some of the plants listed use natural nanotech mechanisms to adsorb oil spill ingredients.  Antonio's copy was a reprint published for members of the Parliament.
